How to Share Audio with AirPods or Beats Headphones from Your iPhone

Have you ever wanted to share your favorite songs or movies with your friends or family? Well, Apple has made it possible to share audio between two AirPods or Beats headphones from your iPhone. Whether you're traveling or simply want to have a silent disco with someone, this feature comes in handy.

Quick Steps

  1. Start sharing audio

  2. Control audio settings

  3. Stop sharing audio

Tools and Requirements

  • An iOS device (iPhone or iPad)

  • Two pairs of AirPods or Beats headphones

Step by Step Guide

1. How to Start Sharing Your AirPods Audio

Before you begin, make sure you have a compatible iPhone or iPad (iPhone 8 or newer, iPad 5th generation or newer, iPad Air 3rd generation or newer, or iPad mini). Once you have the necessary devices, follow these steps:

  1. Open your music app and play a song.

  2. Swipe down from the top right corner of your screen to open the Control Center.

  3. Hold the second pair of AirPods or Beats headphones close to your device.

  4. A notification will appear on your screen with the option to "Share Audio". Tap on it.

  5. Press and hold the button on the back of the charging case of the second pair of AirPods or Beats headphones to pair them.

  6. Alternatively, your friend can also approve the pairing on their device.

2. How to Control Settings When Sharing Music

Once both pairs of AirPods or Beats headphones are connected to your iPhone or iPad, you can control the audio settings as follows:

  • You can adjust the volume by dragging the volume slider at the top near the song title.

  • If you want to adjust the volume for each set of headphones separately, drag the slider under each pair of headphones.

  • You can change or skip songs using the usual playback controls.

  • Both pairs of headphones will be displayed in the Control Center or Lock screen.

3. How to Stop Audio Sharing with AirPods

When you're done sharing audio, you can easily disconnect the second pair of AirPods or Beats headphones by following these steps:

  1. Open the Control Center.

  2. Tap on the AirPlay icon to view the connected headphones.

  3. Uncheck the box next to the AirPods or Beats headphones you want to disconnect.

By doing this, not only will the sharing of audio stop, but the second pair of headphones will be disconnected from your device entirely. If you accidentally disconnect the wrong pair, you can repeat the pairing process to connect them again.

Apple continues to add and improve various features for its AirPods and Beats headphones, and audio sharing is one of the coolest features available. It allows you to enjoy your favorite music or movies together with your friends or family. So, the next time you want to have a shared listening experience, give this feature a try!
